At Home Craft: How To Press a Rose

Begin by carefully splitting the stem of the rose starting at the bottom of the stem. Use a heavy book that you don’t mind damaging. Open your book about halfway. Place the rose between two sheets of paper in the middle of the book. We used regular printer paper. Close the book and stack heavy books or other heavy objects on top for weight.

As the rose dries it may release enough moisture to damage your book. It will take about two to three weeks for the rose to dry depending on temperature and humidity levels.
